The son of Reginald Aldridge, Solicitor, Parkstone. He married Mabel Dulcibella (daughter of Rev. John Padmore Noble) in 1908, and they had two children together: Dulcibella, born 24th December 1909, and Reginald, born 24 December 1914.
Story
Reginald Aldridge was born in Poole. He died in France in November 1914. "Educated privately and at Worcester College, Oxford, where he took his B.A. degree, and won his blue for football and was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant Royal Sussex Regiment on 23rd Mary 1900. He was promoted to Lieutenant 21st March 1903 and to Captain on 1st April 1910. In 1902 he was Instructor of Signalling at Kasauli, and in 1902 commanded a company of Mounted Infrantry in Malta. He was attached to the West African Regiment from May 1905 to January 1908, being Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster from June 1906 to January 1908. From then he was Adjutant to the 2nd Royal Guernsey L.I until January 1912, when he rejoined his regiment at Woking. He went to France with the first Expeditionary Force, 12th August 1914, and was killed instantly by a high explosive shell on 7th October 1914 whilst prerparing to return to the trenches for the night.
