Leila Elliott died in Edinburgh aged 32 years. Second daughter of Charles and Anna Elliott, Leila was born in Bowerchalke, Wiltshire, and is recorded on the 1911 census as a dairy worker on the family farm in Bowerchalke , Woodmanston Farm. She had three sisters; Mildred, Edith and Frances. At some point after 1911 her widowed father returned to Dorset, living in "Winterfold" Broadstone. Leila undertook her nursing training in 1915, at the Salisbury Infirmary, and joined the Territorial Force Nursing Service in 1918. During the war she was posted to the 1st Eastern General Hospital in Cambridge before being reposted to the 2nd Scottish General Hospital in Craigleith, Edinburgh. Leila was demobilised on the 7th February 1920 and died the following month on Tuesday 2nd March.
