Story
Alfred Albert Kellaway served with the Royal North Lancs Regiment. He was born at 1 Branksome Villas, Poole Road and later lived at 5 Sunny Villas, North Lodge Road and “Florida” Avenue Road (now Lodge Close) On 18th April 1915 Volunteered at Poole Recruiting office whilst underage (17yrs 1mth) He served with the 5th Battalion of The Dorsets (Army No.13149) and fought at Gallipoli. He returned to home to recuperate from enteric fever. He transferred to Loyal North Lancs Regiment (New Army No. 26185) went to East Africa and later was wounded in the Battle of Ypres. He was discharged 1919
